  3. Hi guys I'm looking for a Manual steering rack, does anyone have a suggestion as for where I can get one? Atomic Rex in the UK used to do one, however they have gone under Another option is a custom steering rack from unisteeer: http://www.unisteer.com/custom-built-rack-pinions/custom-unisteer-rack-and-pinion.html Going into my track only S15. Reasons for swapping include simplicity and more room in the engine bay Cheers
  4. This weekend I installed GKtech lock spacers: http://www.gktech.com/index.php/4130-high-tensile-steel-steering-rack-spacer-set.html It ended up being a bit of disaster. Even after cutting down the passenger tierod I have the tiniest bit of toe in and no more adjust-ability (after a search I found someone on here had a similar experience but the thread didn't have a conclusion. I wasn't sure if I should bump it or just start my own. Anyway, along with the toe in and lack of adjustabillity, my wheel is not aligned to centre at all and I obviously have a bit more lock to one side. I was originally thinking I could get tierods that have more thread on them, or a shorter distance between the rack and the thread start. Then I started thinking about the fact it adds more lock to one side, I'm wondering if it's even possible to ever get the wheel centred without more lock on one side? My plan now I guess is to cut my losses, buy a replacement inner and outer tie rod for the passenger side and install normal lock spacers, and pray that I can get the inner tie rod out since i used red permanent lock tight on it. (heat apparently does it but I'm a bit worried about lighting my car on fire) Is cutting my losses the best option or should I look for shorter tie rods?
  5. So my power steering pump in my ca18de s13 has decided to go bang, I looked on ebay and there all Hicas equipped ones. Anyone know if there are any differences between hicas and non hicas power steering pumps because i can get a hicas one on ebay for about $150. Or know some one who has one? Thanks!

Hey guys I'm starting to get more confident in driving the touge and trust my s13 more since I put coilovers in, I just came back from a run though the twistys and I had my first real spin out on corner exit, what was weird was I got a bit of oversteer but i didn't really feel it though the steering wheel like I normally do whilst drifting at low speeds/getting oversteer in the wet and caught it too late, is it that the power steering takes away some of that feedback at higher speeds? Or was I just not quick enough to catch it due to lack of experience? Is it better to grip drive without power steering in s13s/cars in general? Has anyone ran their s13 without power steering? Also I've been told about that alloy steering bush you an get how effective are they at improving response?
