  2. 1994 Nissan 180sx Redtop TURBO SR20det MANUAL $6500 ONO - URGENT SALE If it does not sell within a few weeks then I may part it out. 140xxxk's I bought this car from SA about 6 months ago and had it shipped here with plans to turn it into a street legal drift car. Since then priorities have changed due to all the government job cuts in Canberra I am forced to sell and put some money back into my pocket for now. The car has NO REGO and I do not have the funds to put rego on it. Mods done to car: Upgraded T28 garret turbo Frount Mount Intercooler Cold Air Intake 550 Injectors Bigger fuel pump Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 ECU ( worth over $1500) Tuned safely to 14psi to produce 200 RWKW Front and rear strut braces Tein adjustable coilovers 5 stud conversion on all 4 wheel Bigger front brakes on the front with new slotted rotors New deep dish blue steering wheel Blue Takami bucket seats on the orignal rails ( still all adjustable) 3 Inch exhaust from the turbo back Carbon fibre bonnet ( painted black by previous owner) Aftermarket CD player with ipod connectivity Aftermarket alarm / immobilser HD clutch 17 x9 rear Inch rims on rear, 17x8 rims on front with new tyers LSD diff Nismo clutch bracket Boost controller boost and coolent temp gauges ( cuurently off car) Turbosmart BOV Rego Status: The rear seats have been removed ( still have them) as I was going to register it as a 2 seater. When I took the car over the registration pits here in Canberra I got a list of work that needed to be done to get it registered which I have done which included. Remove all illegal window tint ( done) replace steering rack boot ( done) replace sway bar bushes ( done) install secondary saftey catch on bonnet (done) front indicators were flashing red ( fixed) Poor headlight beam intensity ( removed headlights and cleaned the inside, they are shining much brighter but have not been checked) Bad points about car: The drivers side door cannot be locked / opened with the key. Probably just an adjustment but I did not get round to this. Car still can be locked. Just have to go through the passenger side door and reach over untill its fixed. Clutch is still being worn in No interior rear tail light cover ( never came with car) few cracks in the paintwork her and there. Car needs minor steering wheel alignment due to installing the new sway bar bushes and steering rack boot As stated above the car was in the final stages of being ready for roadworthy so at the moment it has the boost controller and guages are removed I can either re-install these items or leave the car as is. Pefect for to turn into a drift car or finishes the final tounches and use it on the roads. Please, NO TIME WASTERS, NO PAYPAL as payment so I will not respond to those scams, No silly offers of "how much for cash" because thats what is used this day and age to purchase good Inspections encouraged before bidding.     so my 180sx arrived in november 2013, its black with gold drift teks, sr20det with Garrett GT28R turbo, full FMIC setup, radiator, fuel pressure regualtor, r32 brakes all round, ISC coilovers, tie rods, a phantom boost gauge, D1 spec deep dish steering wheel, gizzmo boost controller, and some aftermarket front bar currently looking into a new radiator and boost controller, along with hydraulic handbrake as its for a drift car

  10. Hi all, First time poster and a complete noob to the Silvia/180 world so apologies for the potentially novice questions. I just got a 180sx rolling shell that I am intending on putting a new SR20DET in and getting registered. This is my first project car and I am using it to learn. (however my daily is a Stagea so I've learnt a bit out of neccesity as things break haha) My question (I did search the forums but couldn't find a solid answer, particularly for someone who has never done an engine swap before). Originally this car had a "Red Top" SR20DET and I am potentially going to drop a "Black Top" SR20DET in it (only because they are seemingly more readily availble at the moment - would happily drop a red top back in if available). Is this going to be a straight swap? I guess I would have to get a new ECU but beyond that are there any differences I need to be aware of? Also I assume this wouldn't be a problem for getting it blue slipped as it is still an SR20? Any help would be great and apologies again if this has been covered. Thanks,

Hey guys, I've been searching around many forums and haven't really found a very definitive answer on this specific topic especially since it seems everyone has a different name for each part and it's hard to understand. So I've attached a photo to be more specific. Sorry but I'm still a noob with this kinda stuff, but just want to do the job right first time. Currently looking at parts to buy to do 5 lug conversion on my S13 (just the front for now), there's a few people selling some R32/33 front axle assemblies including the lines, rotors, callipers, hubs and knuckles... I know from the guide that most of the R32/R33 brakes (rotors and callipers) will fit after putting on S14/15 5 stud hubs, but I'm wondering if the R32/33 wheel hubs themselves would fit onto the S13 knuckle spindles after removing them by taking out the wheel bearing lock nuts. That way I can just buy the one part without screwing around with S14/15 hubs and LCAs, or getting aftermarket ichiba hubs and the like. Has anyone ever specifically tried this before? Cheers
  13. Hi Guys, I had my SR20DET rebuilt in my 180sx less then a year ago with all new internals including new pistons and piston rings. The engine has only done around 6,000ks. I have noticed that there is what looks like smoke coming out of my breather filter that's connected to my oil overflow can. I have been told its potentially blow-by or something to do with the crank case pressure caused by the piston rings not sealing correctly? I'm just wondering if I could get some more opinions. Just some things I should note: - The engine doesn't blow oil out of the breather just smoke. - The breather has a hole in one end where the smoke is coming out (its not closed off) - The dipstick doesn't pop out. - When I take off the oil filler cap when the motor is running it feels like air is coming out the hole. - Engine performs great. Any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Still with family, need money for this!) What I always say is there's not much point in using the words 'could' 'should' 'would' or thinking about negatives so I decided to just move on as quickly as I can. I searched for weeks online scouring the QLD for registerable 180sx shells whilst keeping a keen eye for my r32 parts :\ I was selling a van, my brother got it for very cheap and gave it to me to sell out of compassion, will never forget that. In the ad i would take a 180sx shell with cash adjustment, this guy had no cash but offered me the shell, which was lucky he kept it off-market while I got the van sold (4ish weeks) Price of shell $1000 ono (UPDATE 15/4/20: The price was negotiated down to $600, and to date I've easily sold 400-500 of stuff, got another 200 to sell along with parts I will be keeping to use like the one piece drive shaft, r200, half shafts, etc) Sold van $3,500, Bought my brothers Honda Civic EK1 - $2000 Registered (perfect for a daily, fuel, weight, fwd safety in rain, etc) Oh and the best part is he left his stereo in there as he has loads of gear, it's only a 300w amp with 2x 10inch subs but it vibrates the glass, your bones and hair on your body at 90% volume Also if my context of time is a bit confusing in this first post it's because I just started this thread after it all happened about 1 month ago, so I will post "progress" in one or two posts after this then time will be live So I finally dragged my brother and my dad along on the two hour drive, and seen the silhouette of the 180 in the driveway as we arrived, I could feel them internally cringing, smashed windscreen, no driver door or quarter glass, grim reaper bonnet hahaha, and etc. Pretty much looked like this bonnet First thing I did was gurney it off, something retarded happened and I musta slipped my right hand being wet or something and the gun pointed at my left hand tearing off 1/2" squared of skin, stung for whole night and day after baha, next best to the old knuckle bash. Here she is at the yard (Location god damn disclosed, no info for potential thiefs -.-) with all that stripped interior taken out and organised. Was as absolute bitch to get on and especially off the trailer as it was 'rolling' without coilovers, uprights wired to the strut tops and sitting on stockies. Like sitting, the wheel arches onto the tyres haha, very hard to roll even with the low weight Came with some goodies, 2L surge tank I am painting at the very moment so pics in next post, with 044 External Bosch, and apparently a 040 in the tank which I will found out soonish. Came with sard FPR, some good looking stereo gear, Bunch of thick gauge wire inc. power, few rca cables, extra relays for thermo and pump etc, all stock relay boxes/fuses and some kind of loom. This weird Boost controller thing? Seems to be a solenoid but no wires? Couldn't be a tee as no adjustment? Hey guys, Danny here from Geelong (south of Melbs) I bought a 1996 Type X black top recently, and have started a few mods, I've been using your site for guides and reading some threads for ages now and thought I'd better sign up eventually so here I am. I was lucky enough to get a almost stock 180, and am in the process of adding bits and pieces from GKtech, ebay and my local tuning garage. My goal would be to have a decently quick weekend car 180+rkw and may see the ocasional track day. soon to come mods - FMIC, AFM, rebuild the T25G? 50mm radiator new hoses and all that awesome stuff! I used to work for strathfield car audio years ago and currently run my own mobile buisness installing sound systems so I would be happy to offer advice on that subject. Hey guys. my S13 currently has no rear seats, and ive been hunting everywhere for them with no luck. ive been offered a set of 180SX seats for free, and have been told they will fit the S13. can anyone confirm or deny this for me please? if they fit, with i need to make any modifications to be able to bolt them in etc? or does everything line up properly? thanks everyone
  24. hey guys. not sure whether anyone has ever asked this question before but i couldnt find a thread that could answer me. i have a 1995 s1 180sx. and the colour of the rocker cover is...........BLUE! the previous owner had sprayed it. so anyways. i have always thought that the black top was introduced to the series 2 180sx in 1996. but recently a friend of mine said that some 1995 models came with the blacktop motor. also i am unsure if its the original motor or he put a new one in. but at the moment im assuming its the original SO....... A)how can i tell the difference between red and black? i know they are basically the same besides some plugs and sensors here and there. but is there something i can look for to tell them apart? B)i plan on buying a power fc. can the red top and black top use the same power fc? or do i have to buy one suited for the red or black engine specifically? thanks in advance
  25. Hey guys I'm new to the; forum my names Stephen. I'm not sure if its been covered before so sorry if it has. The lighter cable runs down through the centre console and then down behind the break pedal, under the carpet and runs under the car into the engine bay and straight to the battery. I'm not sure if this is factory standard or not or someone's plugged the lighter straight to a 12 volt battery, if its been put in after it was sold they made it damn hard to get out. :/ My 180sx is 1989 model
